I was having a conversation with someone in a FB group about why they were posting certain topics.
Their answer was that if they didn't, there wouldn't be any conversation.
Granted these topics were polarizing subjects, however, the group is mainly for community type interaction.
There are no rules against them, but it's obvious they don't serve any purpose other than to make this person feel good that they were creating "engagement".
Unfortunately, this attempt wasn't to stimulate conversation or discussion, it was merely to argue and get responses. No real benefit at all.
If you your goal is engagement, have it be constructive, productive, instructive, or at least entertaining.
The world has enough divisiveness on its own. Let's not add to it!
